Rapid Response 2016 program

The Weston Brain Institute is launching the Netherlands: Rapid Response 2016 program to provide seed funding for novel, high-risk, high-reward research in the Netherlands.

Goal

Provide seed funding for novel, high-risk, high-reward, patient-oriented translational research to accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging 

Funding

Up to €120,000 for up to 18 months

Eligibility

Principal Applicant working in the Netherlands at least 30% of the time and either a researcher at or above the level of Universitair Docent (or equivalent) or a researcher at or above the level of Post-doctoral Fellow with an Administrative Supervisor at a Public Benefit Organisation in the Netherlands

Focus

Projects must meet two conditions to be eligible:

  1. Be translational research that helps accelerate the development of therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases of aging 
  2. Be the development of a therapeutic and/or tool, as tested in humans; human-derived cells, tissues or fluids; or in silico

 

Among other things, this call excludes:

  • Basic research (also known as fundamental research)
  • Projects focused on patient care and management
  • Projects focused on complementary approaches (e.g., exercise, diet etc.)
  • Research performed with animals; or in cells, tissues or fluids derived from animals

                                                     Wednesday, January 13th, 2016, 16:00 CET

Letter of Intent Deadline:             Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016, 16:00 CET
